ANNUAL HAM DINNER IN STARKSBORO
The annual ham dinner of the Starksboro Village Meeting House Society will be held on Saturday, October 1, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Robinson Elementary School multi-purpose room. The menu features delicious baked ham, mashed potatoes, winter squash, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, a wide variety of homemade pies baked by some of Starksboro’s best pie makers, and beverages. Enjoy all the local vegetables. Tickets for this delicious yearly favorite event, which has been held for nearly 45 years, are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. New this year—Family ticket of $25 for two adults and two children, with additional children at $3.00 each.
Please consider coming out to support this event and enjoy a great home-cooked meal with your neighbors. We’re raising money to replace the top of the belfry, and would like to finish so we can remove the old top “parked” by the side of the building.
Check out the silent auction with a beautiful print of a Starksboro scene by Cynthia Kling, Christmas trees, and other items. The Meeting House also will be selling Starksboro woven coverlets, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and Bertha’s Book, the town history. Proceeds from the dinner, sales, and raffle benefit the Meeting House restoration fund. The next projects are rebuilding and raising the top story of the belfry and finishing restoration of the sanctuary.
