Sugar on Snow Party

The annual sugar on snow party sponsored by the Starksboro Village Meeting House Society will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Starksboro First Baptist on VT Route 116 in Starksboro village. This event has been held for over 40 years! Come and enjoy delicious traditional maple sugar on snow, homemade doughnuts, sour pickles, and beverages. Learn how to make maple candy. Tickets for this yearly favorite, perfect for the whole family and all ages, are $5.00 for a single serving, $6.00 for a double serving for one, and $3.00 for children 12 and under. The event is being held in conjunction with the annual Conservation Commission Open Sugarhouse Day.

This is one of the major fund-raisers for the restoration of the historic meeting house. Help put the top of the belfry back on the Meeting House! Also available at the party will be Starksboro t-shirts, sweatshirts, and afghans on sale, Bertha’s Book, the town history, and high quality low-cost cutlery. The Meeting House Society, formed to save this historic Gothic Revival style church built in 1838-40, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

More information and the map with sugar house locations are on the Meeting House web site: www.starksboromeetinghouse.org.
